Maribel Diaz has proudly called Miami-Dade County home for fifty-three years. She was raised and educated in the community she continues to serve. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Thomas University, graduating cum laude, and her law degree from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in 2006. She is the first in her immediate family to earn a college degree. Maribel is a devoted daughter, sister, and the owner of an eleven-year-old Maltese.
Maribel’s sense of public service comes from her family history. Her grand uncle, a Doctor of Civil Law who held several public service positions in Cuba prior to the communist takeover, was forced out of Cuba with the rest of her family. As the daughter of Cuban immigrants and the youngest sibling in her family, Maribel developed resilience, determination, and a strong sense of responsibility, becoming an attorney to continue the family legacy and fulfill her dream of becoming a Judge. Her upbringing instilled in her a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to service and public responsibility.
Maribel began her legal career handling a wide range of civil matters throughout the State of Florida. She is widely respected for her professionalism and commitment to fairness. Colleagues and clients know her as a careful listener who treats everyone with dignity and respect. She has an unwavering commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients.
